Resolve this arguement!

Sparkleninja and I have had an argument on wether a certain combo works in commander. If you constantly used an exile card to bring back {Aurelia the Warleader}, he says that she could cause infinite attack phases. I disagree. Even if these cards were used in combat, her attack wouldn't cause another combat phase because she attacked that turn already. He disagrees, claiming that she was reset and her combo would continue. Can anyone resolve this arguement?

Yes, it works.

Whenever a creature is exiled and returned, it enters with no memory of itself. Example: Creatures lose Aura's and Counters.

So whenever Aurelia 1 attacks, you get your second combat phase directly after the first. Say a new Aurelia hit play. You sac the original Aurelia, and Aurelia 2 attacks. This Aurelia is completely new, and this is Aurelia 2's first combat step, allowing for an additional combat step (the second step for this Aurelia, but the third for turn). So if an Aurelia 3 enters and attacks, that one considers it's first combat step the first, and triggers the additional steps (causing it's second attack phase, but the 4th this turn)

With bouncing Aurelia: she is considered a new object when she returns to the battle field

So during the 2nd attack phase the original Aurelia created, the bounced "new one" is attacking for the first time that turn, retriggering her effect

Rule
Under "zones"
400.7. An object that moves from one zone to another becomes a new object with no memory of, or relation to, its previous existence. There are seven exceptions to this rule:

Exiled objects are not listed in exceptions

Thanks, I'll tell Sparkleninja!

Also of note is that there is no main phase between combat phases, so you would need some way to give her flash in addition to the extra {2} each time she is cast

They are talking about cards such as {cloudshift} not exiling and recasting

Double-O-Scotch

Well playing cloudshift once and sneaking in an extra attack phase (or more) is one thing, and attacking infinitely is something else...

Where's the infinite?

#8
With an {omniscience} and a {tamiyo, the moon sage} emblem and a {cloudshift} in hand for {Aurelia, the warleader}. Infinite attacks. yay. So it requires some components...

Or emblem plus two Aurelia's (one in hand one on field) plus {Kaalia of the Vast}

Okay we have moved away from the original question.

The question has been answered as yes. If exiled and returned and attacks it counts as new object. How we do it is irrelevant to the question.

Double-O-Scotch

Can it be done infinitely in commander was the original question and that hasn't been answered...

Splicer

It has in the combo corner. Read infinite commander
