Message categorization by user

Rather than individual messages and trying to sift through pages and pages (60 for me) to find a specific user's message string.

My proposal is to have a folder-oriented messaging system much like that of a smartphone message organization system.

Idk, just seems inefficient as it is now. I'd send you code for it but I have absolutely no idea how to make messages categorize themselves upon reception.

If you go to a user's profile, and click "messages" it will show you all the messages that you and the user have sent to each other, in order from most recent to least recent. Is that similar to what you're suggesting?

Kind of but why cant it be organized like that to start with? What is the point of going through multiple links rather than just going straight to it from messaging?

So to clarify, you're suggesting to have a 'Sort by...' option in your PM inbox. For example a drop down menu with options like 'sort by date, user, card, trade' etc?


If so, I'd like to suggest an option to tick a Trade Completed or Trade Cancelled box for an inbox sent through Potential Trades maybe. The amount of times I've wanted to track down a card I traded off and who to would have been made much easier by an option like this. That could then be another search option in extension to Slender's search by user suggestion.

I'm all about it!  I haven't updated my trusted traders list in a while because I really don't feel like sifting through all 252 pages of messages...
