I'm making my own set and writing a storyline about the Wedge colors, based on Alara. Since the set is my own, the cards are set to their own power level, and I'm interested in balancing them with eachother, not other sets :) please comment what you like and dislike!

Gilgamesh, the Stark Hearted                       1WBB

Legendary Creature - Human Demon

Lifelink, First Strike

When Gilgamesh, the Stark Hearted enters the battlefield, put a 3/3 a Legendary Wolf with Trample named Iknandu onto the battlefield.

                                            4/3

Ceourl, Overlord of Death    2WBG

Legendary Creature - Lich Necromancer

When Ceourl enters the battlefield, put a Phylactery Counter on target non land permanent you control. As long as that permanent has a Phylactery Counter, Ceourl is indestructible.

Whenever Ceourl deals combat damage to a creature, exile that creature, then you gain 2 life.

                                            1/6

Raxen, Speaker of Dawn      1WUR

Legendary Creature - Angel Monk

Flying

Creatures your opponents control get -2/-0.

UR: Deal 2 damage to target creature, tap it, then draw a card.

                                                  2/1

Dion, Inferno King              WBR

Legendary Creature - Human Soldier

Double Strike

When Dion enters the battlefield, deal 3 damage to all other creatures and opponents.

1WB: Penance 3. (Choose target creature. Then put a -0/-1 counter on that creature at the beginning of the next 3 upkeeps)

                                             2/2

Sykra, Bringer of Fear         UUBBGG

Legendary Creature - Dragon Leviathan

Flying, Flash

Hexproof

2UG: Put 2 +1/+1 counters on every creature you control.

3BG: Put 2 -1/-1 counters on every creature you don't control.

                                           5/5

Zahren, the Obliterator       1RGU

Legendary Creature - Elemental

Haste

Creatures you control get +1/+1

At the beginning of your upkeep, you may search your library for a land card and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library.

                                             3/4

Elspeth, Knight Errant (Reprint)

Jace, Reality Erasure               1U

Planeswalker - Jace

You have Hexproof.

+1 Put a Reality Counter on target permanent.

-7 Exile all permanents with Reality Counters. Then, if a permanent exiled this way had 3 or more RealIty Counters, return it to the battlefield under your control, if it was a creature, it gains haste.

                                     Loyalty : 1

Sarkhan, the Wicked          2R/BG/R

Planeswalker - Sarkhan

+3 Sacrifice target permanent you control. Then, put a 4/4 colorless Void Dragon creature token with flying onto the battlefield under your control.

-3 Put 2 4/4 colorless Void Dragon creature tokens with flying onto the battlefield under your control.

-14 Sacrifice all permanents you control. Then, put a 4/4 colorless Void Dragon creature token with flying onto the battlefield under your control for each permanent sacrificed this way. They gain haste until end of turn.

Loyalty: 3

Ajani, the Hidden Light      3B/GW/G

Planeswalker - Ajani

If Ajani, the Hidden Light would be dealt damage, add that many loyalty counters to him instead of removing loyalty counters.

If Ajani, the Hidden Light has 1 Loyalty Counter, transform him.

-1 Put a 2/1 Cat Rogue creature token with Vigilance onto the battlefield.

Loyalty: 4

Ajani, the Transcendent

Planeswalker - Ajani

+2 Put a 2/1 Cat Rogue creature token with Vigilance onto the battlefield.

-3 Creatures you control get +2/+2 and gain protection from the color of your choice until end of turn.

-6 Ajani, the Transcendent becomes a 6/6 Cat creature with First Strike, Indestructible, Lifelink, Haste, and protection from the color of your choice in addition to his other types.

Zenat, the Forgotten               5

Planeswalker - Zenat

0 Sacrifice Zenat, destroy target permanent.

+1 Put a 1/1 colorless Void creature token onto the battlefield.

-2 Void creatures you control cannot be blocked this turn.

-7 Put an X/X Void creature token with Landwalk onto the battlefield, where X is the number of creatures you control.

Loyalty 4

DimirOverlord1300

It's impossible to transform ajani

DylanW18

As in actually impossible? Because it's a -1 ability not +1 lol might be too hard though

DimirOverlord1300

You have to remove a counter from him to activate the ability

DylanW18

Oh you're right! Let me change if to if damage would be dealt to him, thanks!

DylanW18

+1 for the help :)

Any other comments? :D

Ekann1

Do you want rules corrections?

DylanW18

Meh, I suppose. Always good to fine tune these things. More interested in comments and or concerns about cards or ideas for em XP

1WB: Penance 3. (Choose target creature. Then put a -0/-1 counter on that creature at the beginning of the next 3 upkeeps)

About penance: in general, you don't want to have a mechanic that makes you remember something for three turns. Maybe fix it somehow so that you only have to remember during the next turn.

Any recommendations? I want a slow and painful effect, that lasts over turns in my head. Possible? Lol

abstractApathist

When a planeswalker has 0 loyalty counters, it's put into the graveyard as a state-based action, before any abilities could trigger to flip him. Maybe you should change no loyalty counters to 1 loyalty counter?

Ekann1

I'd bump down zenat to 4 starting loyalty. Also,is this set designed for limited? Because some of these cards are EXTREMELY overpowered in limited.

Sparkle Ninja

Sahren wouldn't do anything. You can't target stuff in the library. You'd need it to say "Search for a basic land card"
