Hardened for Battle/Chink In The Armor:

3WW: Target creature gains Indestructibility until end of turn/3BB: Target creature loses Indestructibility until end of turn
Split Fusion Cost: 6WWBB
Rarity: Rare
Type: Instant

What do you think about this idea?

MisterJH

The gains indestructability is overpriced {indestructibility} and the lose indestructibility would be underwhelming.. However its a cool idea and i like the name, but the effects wouldnt be very useful is all, lowering the costs may help wonders though

Condor-Wingman

What cost adjustment would you suggest? I though that with Indestructible gods/monsters, that being able to trade/destroy it would be beneficial, and yet keep you creature alive? More thoughts?

Kaleo42

Might I suggest {1}{W}{W} / {1}{B}
And a reword of

Creatures you control gain indestructuble until end of turn.

Creatures you dont control lose indestruble and cant have or gain indestruble until end of turn.

Looking at {rootborn defense}, {ready/willing}, and the new archetypes from born of the gods.

Condor-Wingman

Think that might too low CMC if you do both? I like the rewording, though. What about 2WW-Gain Indestructible, 2BB-Lose Indestructible, can't get it back until end of turn? What do the rest of you think? Also, does Wizards every take card ideas under consideration?

Caininite

Indestructible for one turn is 2 cost at best maybe WW and removing indestructible seems like a very limited use spell so maybe BB full card cost of WWBB is heavy but not overbearing for what you could get out of it played at the right time.

Also like Kaleo said it should hit all creatures

Kaleo42

The creators might stumble across something and it could inspire an idea but they do not take direct ideas except during create a card events like {waste not}.

5 mana seems fine for both if you ever want the card to be played. I am a huge stickler on mana costs when creating cards (as I have proven in the create a card section) and 5 is decent but not broken or even pushed by any means.

3 mana indestructible for all is right on par considering split costs like {boros charm} and simplier mana like {rootborn defense}. Also {ready/willing} even has another effect and costs 3.

2 mana for anti indestructible seems fine considering this does not kill indestructible dudes. You must invest even further in boardstate or more spells and abilities to capitalize on it. Lastly and most importantly you opponent has to have something indestructible for this to even matter. It's not like every deck has a god or boros charm and we dont have very much darksteel running around in any format.

5 mana to flip the tables on combat is fine considering similar effects have been printed at 5 and 6 mana. {teleportal} (combat flip through evasion and pump) and {ready/willing} (combat flip through actual combat)

MisterJH

How about like keep the gain indestructible side the same but make the other side like a 'creature/creatures get -X/-X based on like an {X} mana cost or {X}{X} or based on land type etc etc.. Something that could kill indestructible but requires some condition

Kaleo42

Now you are adding versitility and thats when cards need to be upped in cmc a lot.

Also to help understand why these effects in question should be so cheap, it only lasts for a single turn. {Giant growth} costs one. The same effect on a permanent starts at 2 at the lowest but would likely cost 3 at common level since the pump is on toughness too.

Birdbrain

Also, there's a certain thing about the split card names that you seem to have missed completley

Birdbrain

I'll give you a hint

{wax//wane}, {dead//gone}, {ready//willing}

Sparkle Ninja

I have a suggestion for a name Fight/Flight

MisterJH

Well thats why i suggest something like a {killing glare} (referencing or the cards that gives all creatures -1/-1 for each swamp, up the mana cost or add some kind of condition like having swamps for example. Just a suggestion that would let you diddle the indestructible creatures in standard(mentioned by OP as part of the inspiration for this card)
