I don't want to sound like that, "Science is witchcraft" guy, but most cutting edge science nowadays is really just building theories on top of theories. If only one theory is wrong, everything else is too. Also, we have known for a long time that our number system isn't perfect and can create (what we think are) impossibilities. Keep in mind that even gravity is an unproven theory.

Actually, general relativity explains gravity pretty well. Also, it would still be called gravity, it'd just be a different theory.
