Hey guys!

So a while back LG did a cosplay of chandra, and somewhere along the line someone (I think Dirtymistachio) said I should totally do a guy version, because I have natural red hair. As I had a mad dash for halloween costumes last year, I'm starting in advance. 9 months in advance. Anyways, I have done some preliminary sketches and am not completely happy with it. I'm aiming for the {chandra, pyromaster} color set. I was wondering if you have any ideas on how to improve on it/how to actually make it. Also, can any of you guys make chain mail?

Thanks!

Looks good, that's a lot better than I can draw and it seems like a cool costume. How are you going to get it though? Costume order, make it, etc.?

1.Spike up your hair, 2. goggles are a must, 3. wear a gauntlet on one arm and 4. get some dark red pinstripe pants and 5. dark boots. 6. Find yo self a half poncho thing while you are at it. 7. ????? 8. Profit.

Pinstripe pants? Already have goggles from a previous steampunk costume. Only one gauntlet? And Llama is making me a cowl. Only $75 :P

Chandra only has the single power gauntlet on the right hand...
And the technical term for the piece you are commissioning is a mantle, but we will extend it a bit so as to go out to shoulders and hang a bit lower in front and back, so an oversized mantle :)
Sounds good.

If you want to take a cool picture, get a friend to hold the camera, put on rubber gloves, then coat your gloves with ethanol and light them on fire. The lower burning temperature of alcohol means you'll be fine, but put it out quickly once you're done, just to be safe. You can google better some instructions on this :P

Not true, burned myself several times as a kid, learned that fire was hot.  Now I'm careful, sometimes learning the hard way is a good thing.

I couldn't agree more.

I'm 12. I'll figure something for that out. Llama, I'm sending as we speak (well, in a few minutes :P). Anyone have an idea on how I can get the fire effect for just walking around, WITHOUT lighting myself on fire? I want to take this to a prerelease, and I think I could get in trouble for melting stuff..

just boil some gasoline and make some napalm, that will do the trick.

Look into steampunk fashion, and you should be fine

On that note. I think a good candidate for Chandra's home world is Mirridon
