Slow While Typing in Search box

I apologize if this is posted some other place, but I searched and couldn't find anything to help me.

I am running an iPhone5 and have the latest version of iMTG running. I use the card database and trading options about 99% of the time. When I am typing in card names the phone will freeze for a couple of seconds while it tries to live update the search. Some times it hangs for 6-10 seconds and it drives me nuts. I have the offline cache on and up-to-date as well thinking that might help it, but it does not. I have the same results on my iPad when I am searching. It does not matter if I am on Wifi or LTE any search is slow as molasses.

Any ideas to make this speed up? I do seem to remember that it used to be snappy and responsive when I got the app.

Thanks ahead of time

I'm seeing it too. It seems like earlier this year the database ran as smooth as silk but it's grinding along pretty slow lately for me at least.

Try fiddling with your visual settings. Is price display slowing you down?

Piotr me and my friends are all having these issues as well. The visual settings doesn't seem to effect the processing speed.

I am also on IPhone 5 and no matter 4G or LTE I get the exact same thing. (Although I don't have an IPad so I can't speak for that)

I also remember the app formerly being very fast when typing. Perhaps an unforeseen error in an update that caused this? Mine has been lagging for more than a month now :(

I think your code may be searching individually if you know what i mean piotr. Like if i'm looking up last breath it searches l, then la, then las, etc. which slows it down because it loads the whole database each time. Maybe accept a string or character array THEN click to search?

Slenderbro

I think that would improve speeds by a lot

I'm pretty sure i found the problem, just wait till piotr sees it and im sure it'll be fixed in no time

Just an fyi for y'all

Typing the stuff into just the magnifying glass section doesn't lag. That's how i've been dealing thus far
