I also have this problem. When I try to type a card name, I type it out on my phone, the. Have to wait a few seconds for it to update letter by letter. Then it sits around for another few seconds. And finally, after 5-15 seconds, I can click on the intended card.

Same. Has been this way for a long while.

I have an ipad 2, on latest version of iOS 7 and never had the first iMTG, I paid for the extra features and have been disappointed with the app. It's slow, the UI is clunky, I can't see all the card faces in my deck on one screen, the camera capture and card ID does not work, and it's generally not pleasant to use. I really wanted it to be.

Is version one no longer going to have updates?

iMtG gets database updates together with iMtG II, unless your version is older than 4.4.0.

Why does there have to be a new app? Why not just update the old one?

New app allows to explore new architecture/coding. New features will be good as app versions will be developed. It also helps developer and team to explore these options with our support.

I have the same problem. OS is up to date. Running iPad2. Running IMTg1. It takes a few seconds for the card your entering to come up. I just keep typing it out and wait for delay. Same applies with IPod 4th gen. Delay is longer though.

Could this be because they are linked to magic.info? The delay in time, as a result from the coding, telling it to retrieve each image. Maybe you could have all cards on local server. This could speed up opening time of each image. Just a thought. I don't know how you have it set up.

Nope, database is local as far as I know since it works on my iPod without wifi. Just very slowly.

Mcbuckman

Ok. I know that it's cached on device for offline use. I was talking about : pricing pulled from TCG and images from Magic.info. All that is fed thru this apps server, Imtg server. I've worked with different architectures and sometimes it's just slow due to where the information is stored, how it's stored, and where it's archiving from.
