Emblems are so annoying. The biigest problem is they go in the Command Zone. So if you make a card that can target something in that zone, you would mess with an entire game format. It would be the present day power card. Completely broken.

Emblems are powerful but unless your using doubling season, getting them out is a task in itself.  It's not like you're casting an uncounterable game changer that can't be removed.  You have to protect a PW for at least 2 turns before getting it off (Sorin aside as perma +1/+0 isn't nearly as powerful).

How does Karn get rid of emblems? Wouldn't it just stay in the Command Zone since it's not a permanent, or am I missing something?

113.5.: An emblem is neither a card nor a permanent. Emblem isn't a card type.
