Pack Poker

So I decided to go to my LGS yesterday and just hang out with some friends play some magic have a pretty chill evening. Then one of the regulars at the store decides to go around asking if people would be interested in playing pack poker, not knowing what it was he explained:

You take the rare in your pack and out of everyone's rares the person with the highest CMC rare wins all the packs.

Additional rules consist of Red rares auto lose, and rare lands auto win, and rare foils excluded

Now I am one lucky SOB when it comes to pulls so I was like sure I will gamble on this! 3 dollars a pack who cares

We all buy one pack of theros and immediately go for my rare...but I noticed a foil...a foil Thoughtseize and my heart instantly sunk! But I still had my standard rare to count on...and it was an Elspeth!!!! I freaked I couldn't believe I gambled and go these pulls and a 6 CMC to boot! Then someone in the corner of the huddle casually says...Rare land...I was dumb struck...I couldn't believe it, I looked over and there it was Temple of Triumph...FML but in all fairness it was the kids birthday, just that salty feeling of losing 80 bucks.

But this is why I quit gambling and pack poker will never be in my future

Also, the idea of poker with packs as chips sounds really cool but uber expensive so maybe just random rares.

Sooooo...I caved to my addiction and played pack poker again at my LGS, pulled another Thoughtseize, luckily this time my buddy bought me in and he won it back with a Nythkos!
