Pardon me being a noob but how does a dredge deck work?

Vileo

The dredge mechanic says "if you would draw a card, you may instead dredge x and return this card from your graveyard to your hand" it's basically milling yourself.

The short of it: get {bridge from below}s into your GY by milling your deck via the dredge mechanic and cheap draw spells ({faithless looting}, {careful study}, {breakthrough},) saccing {narcomeoba}s via {dread return} to bring out {Flame-Kin Zealot} giving all your 2/2 zombies +1/+1 and haste, then attacking with your tokens and any {ichorid}s you bring out.

I, personally, do not use the flame kin as I do not attack. If you attack you risk losing you token maker. I reanimate big guys with {Dread Return} saving mecrommeobas and or this 3/1 guys that die at eot. Putting tokens out. And doing damage for every token straight to opponent based on the token/creature's power.

I also use {Cabal Therepy} to discard dredged creatures in my hand and flashback to create tokens as needed.

There's dredge vine, or is that modern.

{Dread Return} a  {Balustrade Spy} to dump your entire library into your gy is pretty powerful and a good reason for running landless.

But how would you play him?

Flash back dread return with narcomoebas or zombie tokens.

That could be fun in casual. Later on in the game.

If I'm playing competitive, it wouldn't work. I can't spend the zombies or narcos on that.

Falcon is basically trying to turn your deck into "Oops, all spells" with his suggestions. Lol

Dude, {narcomeoba} is perfect for saccing with {dread return}. {Bridge from below} automatically replaces them with tokens. Plus, more in your GY -> more {dread return}s -> more fatties to bring out.

Oh yes, I know. I was just saying that there are better fatties to pull out in competitive play than that guy. Granted in casual it would be load of fun, Iona or some other fattie would be a better choice.

Yeah but then you're just playing reanimator, not a true dredge deck!!
