Trample indestructible

If a card has trample and it's blocked by an indestructible creature, does the trample still work? In my case it was primordial hydra vs. stuffy doll.

Yes. As long as enough damage is assigned to the creature that WOULD BE lethal, the rest may be assigned as trample. It doesn't matter that the damage will be prevented from protection, that happens later. What happens now/first is where it is assigned.

How about trample and deathtouch? Since technically with deathtouch, 1 damage is lethal. Could that work? One to each creature blocking and one massive stampede over the player?

Trampling creature would have to assign enough damage to destroy the blocking creature, which would be 1 damage (because of the death touch) and trample the rest.

Once damage is dealt, the blocking indestructible/protection creature would be marked with lethal damage, but not die. State-based would clean up the battlefield and clear damage off the creatures and it lives.

Tl;dr - trample/deathtouch assigns 1 dmg to the indestructible/protection, tramples the rest, indestructible/protection lives.

3 bc the GAs controller will assign 3 damage to the reck. (Lethal) and then 4 damage to you or a PW you control

Ok so about that trample/deathtouch thing...
I keep getting different answers so I checked the magic website and under the FAQs I found this

Q: What is "lethal damage", for trample purposes?
A: "Lethal damage" is defined as damage equal to the creature's current toughness, minus any damage that's already on it. This takes into account any damage that's being assigned at the same time as well.

So I'm making the assumption that deathtouch and trample don't just allow it to do 1 damage and move on.

I asked on that FAQ forum to be sure but that's what I found so far about this

What you found is true. However deathtouch is a property of damage that modifies it to mean 1 point is lethal regardless of the actual lethal amount otherwise needed. I dont have time right now but the comprehensive rules have a section regarding this. It should be located in the combat damage section or the ability: deathtouch section.

702.2b: Any nonzero amount of combat damage assigned to a creature by a source with deathtouch is considered to be lethal damage, regardless of that creature's toughness. See rules 510.1c-d.
