I need help figuring out good cards for Grixis control for commander... I've never played before but the new decks coming out interest me and I want to make the Grixis one more competitive. Any feed back is appreciated.

Google "EDH staples" and take 30min or so looking at all the cards. Best advice ever.

Oh, and pay more attention to cards that have a recurring effect. It's all about having permanents on the board

{Sedris, the Traitor King} is a fun general.

Competitive edh are like 60% "staples" at least in my area so finding the staples for ur grixis is the best start.

I put some staples in the Commander Guide. It's stickied to the top of this forum.

A commander deck is made up of your general, {Mana Crypt}, {Sol Ring}, {Mana Vault}, and 96 other cards.

Now, that statement may not be so true, however I used it to prove a point: artifact removal is very good in EDH, no matter which deck you play against. My favorite one is {Shattering Spree}. Combined with {Mycosynth Lattice}, you can destroy many lands! Muahaha!

Why not just overload {Vandalblast}...?

That one is my second favorite, but {Shattering Spree} gives you more options. Unless there are more than 5 artifacts you wish to kill, Shattering Spree would be better to use because of your ability to choose. Also, it has replicate. This means that you can counter one copy, but the others still resolve. Also, EDH is often a game of .politics., so you may not want to destroy "each" artifact you don't control.
