I was sad when I discovered Francis is all an act :(

rarehuntertay

That sucks... But still, it's extreme :)

Mikefrompluto

It is indeed extreme and there is no doubt people who really act like that.

I have witnessed it. About two months ago, the defending state champ got into a fight with a player who thought he was cheating him. State champ yelled at the guy, picked him up and slammed him on the table. Police were called, both removed from store and banned.

What really saddens me is the state champ is a US Marine and my job is to take care of them everyday as a US Navy Corpsman. It feels like he forgot what it means to be in the military by that act.

Jeeze. That's nuts. I'll never understand when people resort to physical violence (aside from self defense.) Especially over a card game.

I've had a guy throw his deck at me across the table at a prerelease. Apparently he was having a bad night and I tried to be light-hearted about it...it's just a game, no worries. He yells at me, hurls deck, and just leaves the store. Got to keep his cards, but yea, people take things too far over a game designed for pure fun. Especially on mtgo. Everyone's tough behind a keyboard.

rarehuntertay

Especially when you're not quite tier-1 deck smashed their all powerful tier 1 deck in two straight games...
Then they kick you after cursing you out...

Before the merfolk bro!

I'm so much of a vindictive turd that I'd have trashed his cards just out of principle.

People are nuts. One time I was at FNM and this guy was going around criticizing people's moves without actually competing himself. He made it around to my match and I wasn't having it. I called a judge as soon as he opened his mouth and my opponent sided with me and the guy got kicked out for the night. Upon exiting, he yelled for me to watch my back when I was leaving. Of course he wasn't waiting for me. The whole thing was juvenile.

The nerve on some people, but good on you for keeping your cool. Personally I would've punched him in his stupid face and called it a day.

My friends and I sometimes play what we call "extreme boccé." No traditional court, but instead we act like idiots and use as many trick throws and obstacles as possible. If your ball hits anything man made or declared before the round, the ball is DQ'ed. My boccé set has sustained many dings and damages because of this. Totally worth it.

And there's always that one jackass who just throws it as hard as he can into a field.

It's sad when you almost don't wanna play a game out because you don't want to deal with your opponents bad sportsmanship. Thank Thassa for judges.

I just wedge it in the nearest tree :)) lol but really, when someone's "that guy", he won't be for much longer... Lol
