Vigilance and Tapping

When I summon a Sentinel Sliver, its ability says: 'Sliver creatures you control have vigilance'. And later on I summon a Manaweft Sliver, and its ability says: 'Sliver creatures you control have "(tap): add one mana of any color to your mana pool'.
Does that mean if I try to tap a Sliver for mana and its has Vigilance, does it un-tap itself?

Vigilance = attack without tapping

You must still tap to use abilities if it is apart of the rules text

No. Vigilance only applies to attacking.

702.20a Vigilance is a static ability that modifies the rules for the declare attackers step.
702.20b Attacking doesn't cause creatures with vigilance to tap. (See rule 508, "Declare Attackers Step.")
702.20c Multiple instances of vigilance on the same creature are redundant.

Yea, that's a HUGE thing to overlook. When in doubt, just google the mechanic "+ MTG + ruling"

Either way, Vigilence only applies to attacking, not activating abilities.

The enchant will work fine. It just won't trigger when the creature attacks.
