Idk if this question is still valid, but why {Read the Bones} over {Sign in Blood}? Your color fixing seems just fine for Sign.

Let's me dig deeper than Sign. If I don't see a combo piece when I can scry, I can put the two cards on the bottom and pray the next 2 are better

Very true, though in Modern, turn 3 is a lot further out than turn 2. Just something to consider.
