End Step Phase

It's my opponent's turn. He calls "End of Turn". I responds to end of turn with {Warleader's Helix}. It resolves. I then, still in the End Step phase, cast {Think Twice}. Opponent flips out thinking I'm cheating. I tried to explain that this was legal, but he wouldn't listen. He wouldn't listen to other players, either. The LGS has no "official" judge, so the store owner steps in and says it's legal. He essentially table flips and leaves. Can someone please explain why I was right in a manner that I can use next time. Or I'm wrong, explain why I'm wrong?

Keyeto

You are correct that this is legal, and it is in the rules. Rule 513 and its subsections handle the end step, this rule applies the most, but you could show him the whole section for some solid evidence:

513.2.: Second, the active player gets priority. Players may cast spells and activate abilities.

Thanks, Keyeto. But specifically, he had issue with my casting the Think Twice after the Helix resolved. He didn't think that once that resolved anything else could happen.

Well then, you can also show your friend this rule:

116.3b: The active player receives priority after a spell or ability (other than a mana ability) resolves.

That combined with the fact that priority would be passed to you right after (since phases/steps can't end unless both players pass priority in succession) should be enough to keep them from getting mad next time this happens!

The consecutive priority passes are huge! Nothing progresses until that happens. This can be a little confusing to newer players and has inspired me to do in depth videos on parts of a turn. Thank you.

We are working on completing multiple videos and scripts before they start getting released, but once we start it will be a weekly thing on our youtube page.
