Price for 1 copy instead of multiples

Is there a way to turn off the feature that multiplies the price of the card by how many copies I have, or want?

I would prefer to have it always display the price for one single copy regardless of how many I have, or want when viewing my trades or needed as lists.

Thank you.

Piotr

I suspect most people prefer it the current way, it makes more sense. You can always open the detailed card view to see the price of one copy.

I also usually trade for 1 card not the full 4 that I want, and would prefer knowing how much 1 card is rather than how much all 4 are.

In Trading, that is exactly the case.

I actually can't think of any situation where anyone would prefer to know how much all 4 are that they want. Generally, if someone is concerned with total values I think they would be concerned with the total - total price.

For example, in Trade Binder, which is a report which shows all Magic Binders set to Trade Binder type, I would prefer all the individual rows add up to the bottom total.

So, I take it by your response then that the answer to my question is no.

The answer to your question is undefined. You know I don't like when people put words in my mouth ;)

Ok, but why would you prefer that they add up, just for the sake of continuity, even though in actual practical applications (as I stated) it is usually more useful to have it the other way?

I want to know what all my Jaces are worth, not just one. I do not like doing maths, I prefer to tell computers to calculate for me. If I want to know what the price of one Jace is, I tap it and it shows.

What is the answer to my question?

It is unknown at this time. I tend to change my views when logically convinced. I share this rare treat with Mr Spock.

I'd like to see just the price of one card to I think this seems more practical. In my eyes it's easier to multiply by 4 than to divide.

You just repeated argument which was used in this thread already, so let me repeat too: in my eyes it is easier to tap than to multiply.

Yes, the ability to switch would be a welcome adjustment. Thank you.

Where? Do not thank me, I never said its on my TODO.

I thought you just asked me if I would like a switch, implying that you would take it into consideration.

Taking into consideration is not the same as putting it on my TODO list. Where do you envision said switch and what would be its label?

I'd put it in the settings and call it 'price quantity multiplication (on/off)'

I support this request. To me, in the list I want to see the value of the card, not how much my number of them are worth. Just my view.

Can I suggest that I stumbled upon this issue last night. I wanted to just see what cards I owned were the most valuable, The multiples clogging up the price affected that for me while looking in My Precious. However, by doing it from Card Database and filtering by my Have Binders, I was able to get the data quickly. It seems like a good work around to me.

Thank you for sharing this. iMtG is a powerful beast and I do not realise what it can already do ;)

I lost a trade opportunity last night because of this autototallig function in the trade binder. It took too long to look at the actual price of each card he was considering and the next round was called and we didn't have time after cause he had to go. It was inconvenient to me before, but last night I realized just how much it could be a real problem especially with the amount of trading that will be occuring this coming weekend.

To clearify i manage the team's collection which is too large and changes too often for binders to be reasonable for transport or even storage. So I keep rares in long white boxes and use the database of the collection on here as a "trade binder" for people to look through. Being able to quickly determine the price of a card that even mildly interests them is the key to making trades quickly and effiecently allowing for more trades (at least in my experience).

I would greatly prefer it default to the cards price not the group of cards price since the bottom already totals the entire collection and if I need to know the value of all my jaces I can do the math on my time since that isnt something Ill ever need to do in a rush.

I'd also prefer if it only showed the price of 1 copy of the card instead of all of the copies. It is easier to calculate trades if you just see the price of one, especially if they don't want to get all of the copies that you have.

There apears to be a lot of support for this change. Does this warrent a swift addition to your TODO?
