Have you guys ever dealt with rude opponents? How did you deal with them?

I went to a draft tonight and it was only 4 players, one being a worker. I went monoblue and had a solid deck but my opponent played {congregate} then {planar cleansing} in each match, I lost but was ready to play my next match for third place even if there was no prize. My next opponent was the worker who refused to make any talk with anyone and when he lost his match he grabbed his stuff and left me expecting him to play. His boss even asked him "not gonna play the last round?" I just thought it was rude and I expected to play more than just one match.

Losing at magic really brings out the butthurt in some people. Sorry you didn't get to play another round man!

Yikes, what's even worse is a snotty, stuck-up magic player. They know how to do everything and take great pleasure in rubbing it in when they dominate. Makes me sad :( because the joy of playing is ruined.

Right? I just want to have fun and these guys are just too cool for me..

Hahaha, maybe that's what it is... .__.;

At this point, I have to assume some things! Because I refuse to believe people are just mean like that for the heck of it. I must give off a "come at me bro" air......

DirtyMustachio

No there are people who are just mean to be mean. They have inferiority complexes most of the time and because they don't fit in well with others else where they use arrogance to appeal to players because they're so above them. Sadly though some people are drawn to being treated like that.

Hmm, now that you mention it...

I forgot that I can't make jokes on here without getting a -1 😐

My buddy used to play when they did the elos rating (?) and he was going to drop but if he left he would have lost 30 points so he was just going to give his opponent the win until he sat down and tried talking to him, my friend is very charismatic and gets along with damn near everyone but this guy was a complete douche.
He ends up winning the match 2-1 has the guy sign the slip then tells the judge he's dropping.
The guy freaks out and asks why he just didn't give him the win?
My buddy puts on his backpack and says, "Your a Richard." (not in such nice words) and just walked off.

It's okay, that just counteracts the +1 I gave you earlier ;)

I get an extreme sense of satisfaction from beating these kind of people. I don't get to play Fnm as much as I'd like and I always place top 3...but I'm there to have fun. I experience these people alot since I'm not a regular so I try not to let them both me bc most likely they are going to be even more upset when I beat them lol.

Well that makes it worth it 😏

I had that happen at the dragon's maze prerelease. I think three people dropped out and made the numbers uneven so a person could not even play.. I was there for fun.. I only beat one person.. Haha
