I've never really gotten into the whole EDH format but decided I would give it a whirl! Go easy on me here lol

Doran is fun! A good choice for a first commander.

{Jaddi Lifestrider} is a must for Doran decks, IMO. {Tree of Redemption} makes for a hilarious defender, and if you end up with a lot of defenders (a common occurance in Doran decks), you can use stuff like {Warmonger's Chariot} for a laugh

Lmao! I like this idea. But what I've noticed is that it's starting to get a little tougher slimming down the deck. Almost everything in there already does have a purpose, making it a tough decision.

Wow! I had never seen that card before. +1 for that! Anybody got any instant/sorcery suggestions? Those were a little harder for me to decide on besides the obvious like {path to exile}

{Swords to plowshares}, {Life's finale}, oooo {Trostani selesnyas voice} would be amazing too! {Eladamri's call} for a tutor, {Lightning greaves}, {Whispersilk Cloak}, and {Swiftfoot boots} are all amsing in edh too.

I was considering {whispersilk cloak} and I agree I am def going to have to put that in. As for tristani, why do you think that would be a good fit?
