Isn't "Sick Puppies" comedian Jim Norton's fake band?

That's the sick f***** puppies hahah Jim norton rules. And it's his character Chip's fake band.

1. Iron Maiden
2. Dying Fetus
3. Skeletonwitch
4. Black Dahlia Murder
5. Chimaira
6. Dream Theater
7. Whitechapel
8. Born of Osiris
9. Avenged Sevenfold
10. Dimmu Borgir

I'm more of a metal head than classic hard rock. Not saying I don't love Van Halen and such because they ARE awesome.

Is this top 10 in musical skill or top 10 in crowd appeal?

I think it's your top 10, in whatever order you choose and by whatever criteria you choose.

I'll do both XD

In terms of skill
1. Tool (playing a whole song in a broken version of an already fractured 6.5/8 time signature is quite impressive)
2. Rush (if you have to ask why then you havent heard enough)
3. Led Zeppelin (the syncopated drum interlude in black dog is what put this to the top in my opinion, not to mention the absolutely legendary stairway to heaven)
4. Red hot chili peppers (to be completely honest if it wasnt for flea this band wouldnt have made the cut skill wise)
5. Queen (having separate movements WITH dynamic changes in a rock song (referring to bohemian rhapsody) is a fantastic display of musical talent)
6. Toto (use of the full band sound inclusive of some of the most pleasing harmony lines you will ever hear put these guys on this list)
7. Aerosmith (Steven tyler AND bringing rock into fruition in america, need i say more?)
8. Pink floyd (creates emotion with what is considered soft rock music, just amazing)
9. Metallica (extremely complex music for guitar, and that's coming from a guitar player of 10 years, *cough cough* black album)
10. Van halen (eddie shreds guitar like none other. Eruption is just him messing around hacking. In my opinion, he's the best guitar player of all time)

Well that's my skill list, i'll post the one for enjoyability/crowd pleasing later.

:-D

I don't think anybody did miss queen... Well a couple but they don't count

Silent1236

Does modern metal and screamo (most of what I listen to) count as rock?  I lost my taste for classic rock a while ago and modern "rock" just doesn't do anything for me :-\

I actually really enjoyed lead sails And paper anchors.

Silent1236

I enjoyed Lead Sails and Congregation, but they're not nearly as good as The Curse and A Deathgrip on Yesterday.

I didn't at first because I knew all their older stuff, but it really grows on you. I saw it as its good music. It isn't the Atreyu I was hoping for but it's still good music.
