I was looking around the Innistrad Block and found this:  {Orchard Spirit}. Why isn't it just flying? That is the exact definition of flying. Why???

Because it has to stay in the orchard which is up there but not way up there. Otherwise it would just be a spirit. It's the orchard.

{orchard spirit} can't be blocked by reach or flying but it can not block flying. That is the reason why it doesn't have flying. Cards like {favorable winds} will not buff the spirit.

It's an evasive green creature. See {Silhana Ledgewalker}. Green doesn't have many fliers.
