So I was able to get 2 play sets of the {voice of resurgence} preorder at $15 each, $120 total. I am now prospecting sets and trying to pick out the "big winner" of upcoming sets... what's you guys' take on Mutavault? going anywhere or chilling at $15?

Well it's a really great card and currently has a high price but increasing the supply this much it'll see a pretty big drop. Similar to what happened with  {Akroma's Memorial} idk maybe it will pay off in the long run.

I'm personally just looking for 1 in foil :P

It will be printed at Rare in the most available produced all year. It can't imagine it will be a must-have rare like {Thragtusk}, but at the same time - betcha plenty of decks play it.

Kagain123

I believe it still has a chance to retain value. Can't wait to use it in my Esper control.

I think the fall set is usually opened more than the core, no?

They don't release sales stats, but the core set  is promoted heavily with the DotP games, dual packs, deck builders tool kit, magic online new account registration, ect, ect. New players are more likely to purchase it, open packs and it's on the shelf all year round. I'd bet they'd be awfully close in terms of product opened over a longer period of time vs. the fall set.

At my LGS they have BOXES of core intro decks to give out

This. My Merfolk deck needs a healthy dose of Mutavault

Why is it 28 dollars anyway?

Was way more at one point. It fits in tribal decks (like Merfolk) and get in beats. It's also Morningtide, magic wasnt nearly as popular then - so very few were printed in comparison to today's Rares.

All-Mana Mania

They printed it for the slivers lol. Even though it is In the core set I see it sustaining price at $10-$15. It is a good land but I don't think people will use it as much as like thragtusk or voice.

I can see most decks using it "just cause" if we indeed do lose the tap lands in M14 ({Drowned Catacomb}, ect.) I'd be a great fit for a control deck without anything to do, it'd be fine for an aggro deck pushing - although most of the good aggro requires colored mana now ({Boros Reckoner}, {Voice of Resurgence}, {Burning-Tree Emissary}) so I doubt they'll be using it.

It's always going to be good in other formats - I don't see why not. As far as cost? $15 sounds nice to me. I'll go with that. We're basically in uncharted territory. Magic is the most popular it's ever been, we don't really have a staple card reprinted in a core set at rare to compare it too necessarily. It may be $15, then never bounce back...who knows?

No, that's pricing average. Low has to do with quality more often than not, but high is usually the same quality as the medium/moderate, it's just that some places sell it for more than most.

I don't believe prices reference to condition. All prices are for mint.
