Tragic slip

Ok so I declare attackers with my {diregraf captain} giving all my zombies a +1+1. My opponent cast {tragic slip} I cast {undying evil}. My question is A do I still assign damage and b do my zombies still get +1+1 that turn. Thanks.

The captain is removed from combat, but as long as he's on the BF, Zombies will get the bonus.

Im guessing Tragic slip morbid was fulfilled
