Isochron Scepter and Blaze

When I play {Isochron Scepter}, could I exile and copy {Blaze} and deal infinity damage for only two mana?

X will = 0 when you cast from the scepter, as you are not paying for it.

Also, blaze is a sorcery and the scepter only takes Instants ;) but were it an instant, X would still be 0 when cast for free.

I'm afraid not, you cannot pay for X. You're never casting the spell itself, you are only paying {2} to activate the scepter's ability. It then places a free copy of the spell on the stack. And that free copy will always have X's valued at 0.

I know the CMC wouldn't allow it, but a similar effect could have you draw infinite cards if you wanted?

From gatherer on the Scepter:

12/1/2004   You don't pay the spell's mana cost. If the spell has X in its mana cost, X is 0. You do pay any additional costs for that spell. You can't use any alternative costs.

You can use additional costs like kicker, but you have to pay for 'em.
