Mimic the mimic token

So after some discussions with the folks at my Fnm it looks like there is a nifty way to exploit  {Progenitor Mimic}.

The idea is that when you create a token from the mimic it gets a conditional copy clause added to it. Now if you have some way of casting the mimic again (or use something like  {Cloudshift}) but targeting the created token it will have two clauses on the new copy creature (that the mimic has entered as) therefore creating two tokens per turn! And yes, this is repeatable (and expandable!) when you use something like  {Restoration Angel}

Enjoy!

Here's the ruling...
If you choose to have Progenitor Mimic enter the battlefield as a copy of a creature, the triggered ability it gains will become part of its copiable values. For example, suppose Progenitor Mimic enters the battlefield as a copy of Runeclaw Bear, a 2/2 green Bear creature with mana cost {1}{G}. The resulting object is a 2/2 green Bear creature named Runeclaw Bear with mana cost {1}{G} and with "At the beginning of your upkeep, if this creature isn't a token, put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of this creature." If another Progenitor Mimic enters the battlefield as a copy of that creature, it will be a Runeclaw Bear with two instances of the triggered ability.

If you blink the Progenitor Mimic/Runeclaw Bear it will cease being Runeclaw Bear and be just Progenitor Mimic. When it ETB it becomes a mimic of Runeclaw Bear with only one triggered ability. I could be wrong but I don't think so.

The tokens Mimic makes also have the conditional token-spawning ability. If you blink your actual Mimic and copy one of these tokens, you will get an exact copy of the token, including the aforementioned ability, but the Mimic will have its own instance of the ability. Meaning it will proc twice.

This is legit and devastating. I ran the combo in ooze your daddy or any bant build I had. Destroying 2 land a turn or gaining 10 life a turn via thragtusk tends to make your opponent really mad. Plus your field gets flooded with guys. Once this gets exploited in a more consistent way the price of {Progenitor Mimic} will go way up.  Get your playset now.

Ok, I get it. So now imagine mimicking {Restoration Angel}. 2 tokens the second turn, 3 tokens the third etc. And then throw in {Parallel Lives}.

So just to make sure I'm fully understanding this. The tokens created by mimic keep the ability of the original mimic? They just fail to meet the criteria to create another token. So you blink mimic and copy a token it made and it gets the ability twice?

This is beautiful! Such a cool exploit. Makes me want some Progenitor Mimics even more now
