Cost to put an app in App Store

I was just wondering how much does it cost to put an app in the app store ? What percentage off the selling price of your app goes to you and what percentage goes to apple? What do you need to make an app (I'm assuming a Mac and do you have to pay for the apple interface)?

Ahem, I need to call 2 lies on that: not all free apps have advertising in them, and what Apple does is getting their part of voluntary agreement, not steal.
