Trait Doctoring Help

My buddy says I can't find a viable use for {Trait Doctoring} and so far he's correct...
I wanna run 4 of them for a funnzies deck.

All I see out of this card is EDH "protection from" tricks. Like ciphering it onto a {fire servant} or something to make it more than just red spells. I don't really understand why it's a rare. Like {alter reality}. Sure you can do tricks but its not really that great of a card.

Ya I feel the same way I'm usually pretty good with building around a certain card but I'm stumped..

You can alter a land type and color type

Lets say for instance {evil presence}

You're blue and have an island walk guy with protection from green. Change evil presence to be "enchanted land is now an island" and alter protection from green to blue. Now he's unblockable and you can change the doctoring for many items each turn you hit your opponent.

Real good card IMO

Boom no more lands

Since {Trait Doctoring} is Sorcery speed you can't change it as it enters the field correct?

I see the beginnings of a {dark depths} Marit Lage themed EDH deck...lol. Finally something to put {alter reality} and {sleight of mind} into lol
