I would say no, due to the mantle saying "it can't be targeted by a creature". And the tap ability says destroy target creature

Pro creature: cant be targeted by any creature ability, cant be blocked by creature, and takes no damage when it does block. Let me tell you how its so annoying when my gf throws that onto a {Palace Gaurd}.
