This is quite a different way then I've ever seen Christianity. Hmm. Well. Cool. We learn something everyday lol.
Honestly learning about different religions is always been an Interest of mine

it's good that you are interested in it. I pray that one day you will come to accept Gods gift as truth, but that is your own choice. tell me if you want to know any more. :)

I'm happy that all of you have something to believe in. Hailing from Ireland, where religion has torn apart the country for hundreds of years, most of us are now atheist. Too many years of fighting with our neighbours and having Christianity forced on us by the British (not to mention the priests who were pardoned for sodomy) have led most of us to leave religion at a faster rate than almost any other country in history.

So like.
Saying you're atheist. Do you mean you simply refuse to believe there is a god? Or like...idk...never understood atheism...

Atheism is the absence of belief in a god or gods.

Apathy Reactor

atheism is the believe that there is no God

Live and let live, avoid maliciousness. The golden rule: treat others how you wish to be treated is the best standard over all religions.

Religion may be uplifting but in the past 40 years its been more of a suppressor of evolution of human thought. We're too concerned about what is the right choice of belief in another persons life. That's all I hear from religious folks, "well the book says this and if only you did these tasks would you be enlightened like me."

That's horse .poo. - my grandparents are Christians but I don't bring that into the factor that they are just great people. Met plenty of religious folks in my life that have steered me clear from a cattle call.

I mean the gossip community within churches is absurd

it can be, this much is true, but the world is full of hypocrites and false prophets. Christianity is misunderstood because people only know what we are against, rather than what we are for.

"What we are against rather than what we are for"
Saw that on Facebook the other night.
It's very true. But like. I'm very much enjoying these debates of religion.
They're very enlightening into that culture? Is it a culture? Idk...
Anyways I do agree with the paraphrasing a 3500 year old book because its like...each book says at the beginning like
"Translated by ~so~and~so~" and that's exactly what it is.
A translation. Of how that individual saw the bible. I would like to know if there IS an original Bible somewhere in the world. Because that would be very interesting indeed.
And if there ARE originals. Is that what all the different translationers have read? Or did they read another individual's translation of the bible. And translate how they understood it.
Ultimately distorting what it would originally have been.
Idk. That's something I have always wondered when people talk about all the different rules the Bible puts into place.
Is that really what it said 1000s of years ago when it was first written?
Also. This is a side note because I just watched the movie Constantine
Is the Spear of Christ actually out there somewhere?

Protip: remove religion from your life and you'll have 60% less 🐃💩 in your life

Destore117

Muggy. Please. This forum is to talk about "whatever you feel like" but. Don't offend people. That's just inconsiderate. You have no reason to say things like that it may be what you believe. But don't post it to a public forum. The point of this is simply discussion.
Not just putting others down because they can believe in something you can't.

The thing with the different translations is that a language might have different translations for a single English word and they're taking it worth or without the context, I actually don't know about the Spear of Christ

I do not believe in a god. In my life, I have seen no reason to believe in it. I respect those who do, as I think religion serves a purpose in having us better ourselves. But that is just it. Religion doesn't just do that. The flaw with it is that it encourages you to look down on those who do not agree. You are Christian, correct? So I am doomed to hell if I do not convert? It's this kind of belief that I find so distasteful. If religion could contain itself to its members it would be so much better. As it is, when people in the US say that homosexual is against the Bible and all that... That is just awful. That's an example of religion imposing itself on others. It is not up to relgion to decide what is natural and unnatural. If two men love each other, that is something between the two of them that NO ONE has any power of judgement over.

I'm defending the position of avoiding religion. I'm sorry it offends you that I have reasons to uphold my beliefs.

This is also a forum to discuss whatever we please, so for you to say you can post but I should refrain, we'll that's kind of hypocritical wouldn't you say?

Most people under 30 that I know who grew up with religion in their lives now avoid it completely and found more alienation in a religion than other social groups

And to state that I don't have beliefs due not lending my faith to the big 3 religions out there, is that fair? I believe in karmic action

I believe there are good religious people but most religious people that make the headliners prove they are just as awful as those 3 men who kidnapped those girls

How do you defend an organization that promotes hate? How do you deny they promote hate when they attend funerals of the dead to mock them more? The zealousness of religion has caused less progression in the USA
