So I have to get some clarification on some of these transform cards, if possible.
I will post as to my understanding and you can correct me. It is mainly in regards to the summoning sickness rule.

1st case: {Ludevic's Test Subject}
If I am able to transform this card in my first main phase of my turn, I cannot attack with it till my next turn as the card has not been under my control since the start of my turn.
If however I was able to transform it at the end of my opponents last turn it would be free to attack with.
Same would go for {Ravenous Demon} I'm guessing, and all others the same.

2nd case: {Reckless Waif}
No problems tapping this one on the same turn it transforms (if it transformed by its own activation) being that it happened during the start of the turn.
However if a {Moonmist} was played in my turn, it would not be able to attack till my following turn's attack phase.

3rd case: {Screeching Bats}
Does this activate early enough?

I'm sure there are more but some clarification on the topic would be awesome.

From my understanding of the rules, the 'summoning sickness' affects a creature when it has not been under your control since the start of your turn. Also from what I understand, this is determined by the card name and not much else.
Haste negates this.

I am happy to be corrected, but from what I've seen (in my local play group) people may have been playing transform cards different from what I understand the rules to be.

Let's look at each of these separately, shall we?

A creature that transforms is not considered a new creature, it's the same just "changed".  If you controlled the Experiment since the beginning of your turn, then you can attack with it the same turn you flip it.  Otherwise {Civilized Scholar} would be abysmal.

See above.  (Okay, so I could have handled these all together.  My bad!  ;))

Changing a card's name does not make it a new creature.  If it becomes a copy of a different creature it doesn't lose auras or equipment or count as "not having been in play since the start of your turn"  That piece of cardboard (or token) never went anywhere, it just changed.

Now, if it leaves play and comes back, it's considered a different card, and subject to summoning sickness.

I think your play group could use a peek at the FAQs for Transform:

I'm pretty sure that if the creature has been under your control for a complete turn it doesn't matter if it transforms.  U you can use it to attack.  The creature that transformed never left the battlefield so no summoning sickness.

Ok, so I had it quite wrong then. Making all those cards better than what I thought.

Yeah I read that FAQ over and over but still couldn't find what I was looking for.
Hence my post here to see if anyone could clarify for me.

Thanks again

Wally

I guess I just need to get my {Elbrus, binding blade} onto {Prodigal Pyromancer} then I can attack with the dirty big black guy :)
