Does  {Goblin Electromancer} reduce the (X) cost for  {Bonfire of the Damned}? I tea the ruling that it does decrease ALTERNATE costs, but the ruling stated specifically overload so I'm unsure if it works here.

Yes x costs are 1 less too

The x is the actual cost, not alternate. Alternate costs are the ones which give you the option to pay for the card which is not the top-right mana cost

The goblins reduce the casting cost by 1. The proper way to cast bonfire is to declair X. If in this case you want X to be 4, then you would end up paying 7R for the spell. R  + X + X - 1
