Doubling season + knight of new alara

Would {doubling season} allow the {knight of new alarA}'s ability to double counters on other multicoloured creatures so instead of +1/+1 they would get +2/+2?

I'm afraid not, as the Knight gives a +1/+1 buff, but no +1/+1 counters.
