The card is not going into Standard now. It's likely not a part of Theros block either, because that set was finished a year ago.

I'd say red needs better spells in general, red got kind of dumped on with {Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded}

Red has the fewest EDH staples. They also don't deal with enchantments at all. They don't have any way of interacting with enchantments with some exceptions like {Malignus} and things.

I'm just glad that Land didnt win - whatever the land ended up being would likely be awful due to power level restrictions.

Really? I thought it was for theros. That's news to me, I'll see if I can vote for another color, my only reason was to pull junk together
