I buy magic all the time. Like at least once a week. Yesterday I picked up two boxes. Friday I'm picking up another.

All told, about $200? I am quitting standard after this season, so my mythic rare costs will go down. I'll just need whatever new staples for EDH and legacy.

I'll buy a box and fatpack when a set comes out.  Then I will buy the singles I need.  I will also buy a pack or two on impulse when I check out at department stores, just for the hopes of pulling something cool.  In my house, there are five of us.  My wife, 3 kids, and myself.  We all play so we need more of the good cards so to make us all happy.

I buy a 2 boxes and a fatpack upon release. I've found that this generally gets me a playset of the commons/uncommons, or at least very close. Then I buy random boosters from stores till next set comes out.

In my personal group of Magic friends there are 4, soon to be 5, people. We normally get one deck each from a set. For example: I got Dimir and they all got the other four. Now, two of these people live in another state. So when we get together, we are starting to buy a box. Each pitches in $25 (this is for the 4 of us) and we all get 100 some cards and we trade for the ones we want. Last time, my friend who has Orzhov got two Dimir rares and I got two Orzhov rares.

I used to have a coupon that's in the grey areas regarding legalities referring to the law, so I get fat packs sometimes dirt cheap. But now I just buy singles and maybe a booster here or there.

I was like that too, in drafts, low mana, lifelink wins games.

I used to buy boosters like crazy but I've chilled out lately. Instead my money goes into my rediscovery of enjoying playing music and reading comics and books.
