What are you siding for Pod?

Currently still building the side but {Anger of the Gods} is a 3/4 of beaut against pod, tokens, and most other decks played at my LGS that would beat me.

kikipod w/ 2 arids, 2 groves, no hierarchs- 2-2 today

lost to ad nauseum 0-2, burn 0-2, beat UWR 2-0 and B/W tokens 2-1

first two were mostly to misplays

Fnm was modern.
Round one, 8 rack.  Easy 2-0 win.

Took first 1-0. . It wasn't really a fnm.  The store wouldn't even give me a promo.

Round one, Black Blue Rack-Win
Round two, Boggles-Win
Round three, {Protein hulk} combo. Lost 2-1 due to not getting any of my gy tech games 2 and 3 and him having leyline for my hand disruption, which seemed kind of unneeded because he's cutting a card for a card which I could discard anyway, and its a terrible draw late game.
Round four: Monoblue tron, tie. Won game one, game two he top decked {platinum angel} when it was the only card that could of saved him. Game 3, ran out of time.

I'm pretty happy how BW tokens performed for its first modern tournament.

Round 1: 2-1 Over Ad Nauseum, player didn't have more than one Leyline, allowing me to Thoughtseize him into oblivion

Round 2: 2-0 Over 8Rack, just sat there and out valued him, never really in danger of losing

Round 3: Split to make top 8

Quarterfinal: Same Ad Nauseum list, same result, made a mistake with Chording that allowed him to go off game 1. 2-1 me

Semi: Jund, he never saw Olivia and only saw Pyroclasm once, very lucky and got there 2-1

Finals: Affinity, he dropped 12 cards by turn 3. Game two he swung for 12 infect after I gained infinite life. .loving. stupid 0-2

I was happy to have finally found a competitive modern scene, did ok, but I need to improve my BGx matchup

Do you have Sigarda sb? They have no way of dealing with her

Yesterday I went and crushed it with an undefeated run using Hulk combo.

Matches were

Affinity
It wasn't even real affinity. Weird brew running {Cheif Engineer}. Was not an issue.

The Rock.
He Thoughtseized turn one but I had four hulks and three lands so he got rid of a hulk. Next turn I got the footsteps and t3 I killed him

'Murica Control.
Honestly really easy. He remanded my footsteps. I recast it the next turn and won

This deck just can't touch hulk combo. I went off t1 in one of the games with three {Simian Spirit Guides} 1 blood crypt, 1 {Protean Hulk}, 1 {Faithless Looting} and a {Foitsteps of the Goryo}

Not an FNM, but a free tournament.  I lost all my matches with an incomplete Eggs deck.  First round was 0-2 against Nykthos Green.  Never stood a chance in either game.  Round two was 1-2 against Living End... Three close, fun games.  Last round was against some random Samurai deck... Lost the match because he gave himself hexproof and Banefire was my only win condition.  Afterwards I picked up Emrakul to finish off the deck and reworked the sideboard.

My first Modern FNM is this Friday.

Went 1-3 at the FNM with a complete list this time.  Went off a few times, and had many vey close losses, mostly against control decks... One blue with a Tron shell, one American.  I feel I'm getting better at piloting the deck and the wins will come.  It's a very fun deck to play.  The only game I wasn't close in was against a very polished UR Delver deck.

3-1 yesterday at FNM, playing combo less junk pod

Round 1: Zoo

Easy matchup. Siege Rhino + Finks get the job done pretty well. Easy 2-0

Round 2: Tron

I won a game, more than I can normally say. Both games 1 and 3 he resolved emrakul. I can't exactly answer that. Particularly annoying game 3 which was completely one sided until the Emmy.

Round 3: Delver

Game 1 I grinded him out, went to board in chalice, cast chalice turn two, pretty much sealed the deal.

Round 4: Infect

This was hexproof_is_the_best. Game one I died to infect super pump fast. Games two and three I resolved chalice turn two and got way ahead.

Overall took fourth. Not bad, I'm trying a bit more anti tron tech in the board now.
