No worries about MTGS, if I get bored I'll leave them alone ;)

Back to the topic, what about some sort of karma system? People would be able to vote the other people up or down and an obvious troll would look like a red Christmas tree?

What can we do to prevent this kind of people from appearing here?

I started a continuation of the thread ;)

Don't. It has already been settled.

We already have this.

I agree with BlackJester. This is a very tight-knit community already, and if any trolls appear on here we can deal with this.

BlackJester

I'm worries that might make more problems than it would solve. I would hate to see the forum become a popularity contest.

Agreed. The rating system we have already is highly sufficient and any warnings that BJ, Proph or myself have dished out, either through PMs or public, have been adhered to instantly ... so far. I think we're on top of it. ðŸ'

Yes I can see you're on op of things and I totally appreciate that. What about when the number of posts per day grows to 50x what it is now? I'm not pushing the karma idea, I agree it is dangerous.

then it means 50x more people are active users of the forum. i bet you can find 100+ mods at this middle

How about a "Give yourself an Uppercut" button?😜

Mentonin

Maybe just a "Report post" button, this doesn't cause popularity contests

BlackJester

What about liking comments instead of people?  I like the idea of having only positive, like FaceBook likes. Then maybe track the total number of liked comments?

There is already a report button.

Mentonin

Where do we have the report button? About the like button, it wouldn't stop the trolls

Piotr

Report button is in the engine but not enabled in iMtG theme yet. It can be enabled very quickly if moderators decide to.

The Report Button sounds good, but, as Proph said, I do believe that any trolls, if they appear at all, can be easily handled. I don't mean through verbal harassment either, I just think that our community wouldn't allow the ego-driven, negative feeding of a troll to exist. Some may give words, but I can see most just simply ignoring altogether. If worse comes to worse, you could always ban said user from the forums.
