That maniac will be an obvious target as soon as your opponent realizes your strategy.  I'd be worried about removal.  Protect him with {undying evil} or {mizzium skin} perhaps.

If you splash green. You could have {yeva, natures herald} to play it at the beginning of your turn after you exile your library

You'd have to have {painter servant} out, naming the color green for that to work though.  The maniac is a blue creature.

An {alchemist refuge} would work too.
