Sarkhan the useless potentially kills himself with his first ability, his second ability doesn't help much because if you actually run him for some reason it will be a dragon deck so why sac a good dragon for a 5/5 token, and his third ability if you don't have many dragons on field isn't that great

Birdbrain

You can turn a 1/1 into a dragon with him. And I want to find a use for his first ability. And I'm going to

True, but other than that....

...you would have to have a bunch of dragons in play. I see

Honestly I'm not arguing the fact that tibalt sucks, just that sarkhan sucks more, by the way, you don't need a committed attack to take out sarkhan, he pretty much takes himself out for you

Worst case you replace your worst creature with a 5/5 flyer. Then most likely get to replace him with another card from your deck. So for a CMC of 5 you get a 5/5 flyer and a card to replace it...I used to think he wasn't that great but on second glance he is better than many planeswalkers because at least you know what you are getting.

Would he work in maybe a red/black weenie kind of deck? Maybe it could also use some of the lower cost dragons as well such as {dragon hatchling} and {furnace whelp}?

And what if you put tibalt in a deck that prevented the opponent from playing cards?

There might even be ways to get tibalt on the field on turn one so he's more usefull that way. Both of these planeswalkers are of equal power if you use them correctly

Oh and if anyone has one for trade  {Sarkhan the Mad} I'm interested. I know this isn't the normal thread for this but normally this card would go unmentioned. Thanks.

He would also work in a low cost BR deck, but I think he would be a nice fit in EDH Dragon deck.

Didn't I just say he would work in a red/black weenie deck? A weenie deck is a "low cost deck"

I was agreeing with you.

oh. Lol. He wouldnt preform at optimum level though unless you include the lower cost dragons so you can take full advantage of all his abilities...oh! What about {day of the dragons} in a deck with him in it?

MarduArrow

If he draws anything with 4 cmc (most dragons) he renders his ult unusable, sarkhan vs tibalt sarkhan has dragons, with tibalt I would build a deck full of madness cards, you have a bunch of dragons in the field but oops sarkhan can't ult because you drew a dragon tibalt can ult, he's gonna take those dragons and kill you with them, wont even bother attacking sarkhan because he isn't a threat

Rass

I see darken more versatile then tibbs. I can see sark used in more decks that I would build. Neither one of them seem to be a major game changer when they hit the battlefield. But this is magic each has there place.

Lets go back to when he came into standard. What was the most dominant deck? Jund. Jund in shards block very very mean rarely a card with more then 4 cmc maybe a couple  {Bituminous Blast} but any extra card in that deck meant no fun for you. Bit blast into  {Bloodbraid Elf} into  {Blightning} would leave him at 2 loyalty and a not so cheerful oppenent. Or he could get a  {Maelstrom Pulse}. Or you have a  {Sprouting Thrinax} to -2 on a get 3 1/1 to chump block or slowly beat away life and a 5/5 flier. He was mainly used for that extra card every turn which good card advantage in those colors is rare with out a price. Now with tibalt if his -4 was actually -2 and you could play him and then kill him off he would be so much better.

Edit:
tibalt could be good in a madness deck. I believe that has been talked about before.
