I tried searching blocking and can't seem to find an answer so I hope you can help.

If I turn my  {Simic Keyrune} into a creature and make him a blocker of random 2/2 creature. Then I tap him for the mana. Does he do damage to the attacking creature?

Yes he does! As long as you tap him AFTER he is declared as a blocker, he still blocks.

From the Comprehensive Rules:
506.4a Once a creature has been declared as an attacking or blocking creature, spells or abilities that would have kept that creature from attacking or blocking dont remove the creature from combat.

506.4b Tapping or untapping a creature thats already been declared as an attacker or blocker doesnt remove it from combat and doesnt prevent its combat damage.

Thank you very much. Especially for the rule number. I was arguing with the judge about it and he said I was wrong. I didn't fight too much because it wasn't my game but I didn't want the guy getting screwed because it was a nice move that would have had a turn in the game. Thanks again.

It amazes me how often judges or shop owners know less rules than a casual player...

Lol I am the casual player

Does The Keyrune go into the graveyard if dealt enough damage?

Coffee Vampire

Yes, if it is a creature, and is dealt lethal.

Along this line, does this mean I can assign my   {Lobber Crew} as a blocker then tap him to deal the damage to players and still have him block the assigned creature?

I think a lot of people get confused about this, because back in the day if you tapped a blocking creature, it received damage, but didn't deal damage.  That was back when we didn't have planes walkers, and we had mana burn, and we had to walk uphill to school both ways, in the snow, and yada yada yada........... :)
