My girlfriend decided to start playing again so i threw something similar together for her last week and she went 2-3 which is better than she has ever done. I decided to revamp the deck and here's what I got.

The idea is to have very large dudes that sustain a strong broad presence and if their bulk (with the help of {rogue's passage}) doesn't get the win then {Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord} or {Essence Harvest} will.

Good question. Should be an auto 4 of no? At least 3 if anything

Why not rancor?

Two reasons:
1: this is a very creature based deck and between forcing blocks and the sac/ fight effects remove most the blockers that rancor usually gets past (just remembered I need to find my {Ulvenwald Tracker}s).

2: im using my rancor in my spirit deck and my first reason justified not trying to find more.
