I think if a creature has protection from creatures it doesn't get damage and therefore no additional +1/+1I could be wrong though

He get's the counters for blocking, not taking damage.

This is more just to be able to block everything they have with 1 creature and suffer no consequences.

How about  {Boros Reckoner} with  {Boros Charm} and make it indestructible. Give it lifelink and ping it or block a creature with it. Infinite life!

If you have heaps of creatures in your graveyard, I know a good way to get them back.

{Angel of Serenity} + {Cloudshift}.
AoS enters the battlefield, choose three creatures you want back. Cloudshift her, get the creatures to your hand, choose three more when she re-enters.
