Who makes a good commander for some one who likes to backstab his allies in multi-player games? A buddy of mine likes to do this, the first person to help him is the first person he takes out. I just want to know which commander fits this mold? So I can recommend it to him.

Hmm... So many possibilities there. It sounds like he might enjoy a "Political Puppets" type deck, with something like {Zedruu the Greathearted} at the helm. Making allies, giving people stuff that either doesn't really help them ({howling mine}, global enchants that don't matter who controls it) or stuff that hurts them ({Illusions of Grandeur} then shatter enchantment after you donate it - oops!) and then take everything back with {insurrection} for a win or just to kill your ally. If he likes to mess with people and play combo-oriented decks, he'd probably enjoy it.

"Group Hug" type decks (where the player does stuff that helps everyone so no one wants to kill him, then wins by playing a ludicrous combo out of nowhere) might be fun for him too. Some commanders that work well for this are Zedruu (again), {Pheldagriff}, or you could dabble into a 5 color general to access all sorts of shenanigans.

I'll tell my friend about this. You see he has not been playing magic long and goblins and green decks are his favorite type of deck he likes to play so I don't know how much he'll like playing {W} or {U}.
