Stop competing standard

Think I may stop competing in standard. Tired of changing my deck every 3 mths. I recently bought a legacy deck. I have been having a blast playing with. I don't know standard just feels like a sink hole and I don't have the time required to spend on studying the new cards every time they come out. Anyone else feeling the same way?

Totally agree, I'm in the process of doing the same thing. Currently I'm making cheap standard decks (Travis Woo's Dirty Cheap Dirty Red, anyone?) and making B/R zombies to win my way into legacy, through winning prizes at FNM. As soon as aggro gets stomped out of the meta I'll hopefully have garnered enough good stuff in trades to finish my No-Land Belcher deck.
Totally with ya, brothuh.

I feel the same way. I'm just gonna focus on modern, legacy, draft/sealed, and EDH. Standard just bores me now.

Greg54js

I'm the sane way.. I'll still do drafts but mostly i'l focus myself on my edh decks which I love. For the most part I'm just a serious casual player not an actual competitive player (unless you count competitive edh)

Coffee Vampire

I'm getting into modern but I will always truly be a standard guy! x)

I've tried to play standard for a few years, always something comes up that destroys the meta. I played Delver for awhile, with RtR I tried Esper Spirits. But the best cards in standard always rise too quickly. {Thragtusk} is too good not to play, and he runs the show. Every deck is a response to it and how good it is.

I play Legacy, because money is no issue and the meta is always changing. Show up one day with a Burn deck and dominate, next week it's something different. I prefer that rich, lavish, ever morphing environment. I am getting exhausted playing Standard.

I just hope that enter the infinite that card spoiled for gate crash is real, because I want to put it in my {show and tell} deck and EDH deck I'm building.

Apparently it is real. There's preorders up on eBay for it already. $20 for a playset I believe.

Legacy has silly combo decks, an infinite is nothing new. The format has answers. {Leyline the Void}/{Helmet of Obedience} combo exists, {Rest in Peace} adds to it. Legacy is just more healthy IMO.

CajunJynx

As a newly returning to the game player, most of my cards are standard, but I am loving my legacy deck and am building modern and edh slowly. I will always play sealed.

Dudecore

Basically a new Sneak/Show ({Show and Tell} or {Sneak Attack}) combo won't ruin Legacy. It has answers. The new Gatecrash combo doesn't scare me, or anyone else playing a majority of the Legacy decks.

Yeah I know it's just a fun combo to try out. This is why I like legacy.

ducttapetitan

I play standard so that I can get in on the booster drafts the next week.  I haven't really tried edh yet because I don't have enough cards and legacy is too expensive for me to even hope to compete in right now.

Seth5000

Where can I find preview of gatecrash cards? I can't find them anywhere
