Stopped in 1996 due to funding, rebooted in 2005 due to people demanding it back. Easy to start from 2005 or from Series 5, where the eleventh doctor starts. I think there is also going to be a good starting point in the next episode, which is on Christmas.

I was pretty happy they left, the show started to feel stagnant and boring with them. I look forward to the new companion and will always miss David tennant
