I'd prefer {Karn, Silver Golem} over {Animate Artifact}.

Tap the {Metalworker} when you have 2 or more artifacts in hand. Animate it and pay the {Voltaic Construct}'s ability to untap it and you have an unlimited supply of mana. Animate the {Planar Portal} to keep tapping and untapping it to search for and play every colorless spell in your deck. If you search for {Gemstone Array}, any color mana is possible as well.
