iMtG joins anti-SOPA protest. If the legislation is passed, I may be responsible for everything you say here in this forum and this may mean the end of it.

Are you bringing a halt to the forum for the time being?

Today. I'm following Wikipedia and the others, we're shutting services down for a day.

Mate, I can't help but feel like everything is against you and your awesome little app. Here's to you to continually prevail over evil!🍻

SOPA and PIPA. Wow. If you actually read the bills, they're so abstractly worded, you can tell the authors have only a vague idea of what the Internet actually is.

Props to you for the protest. ðŸ˜,,

I decided to join the protest because I think most of the people don't know about SOPA and even if they do they think that this is not going to affect them. Well, it does.

Today I realised how often I use Wikipedia ;]

In other news, I mentioned already that company which is acting on behalf of Hasbro sent DMCA take down letter to Apple asking them to remove iMtG from the app store. It was on December 20th, a day before I decided to quit my day job to work full time on iMtG. I already wasted many hours researching the trademark law, similar cases and the situation in general, time which I should have spent implementing foils into the app. I'm pretty sure now that they can not harm iMtG name nor our logo, as they simply do not hold trademarks on MTG (a japanese soap company does :D ) and their trademark on colour pentagram specifically mentions the order of colours and circles.

The remaining bit is our use of card's graphical and literary content, and we shall see about that. I have written to the lawyers and asked for friendly cooperation, but so far there's no reply.
If it comes to the worst and they won't talk to me and sue, I will ask for your support and some lobbying with WotC ;)

Man, I hate all this "anti-piracy" junk!  They'll let people play with guns all they want, but hint at threatening giant moneymakers like Hollywood and RIAA (who are still making money hand-over-fist) and watch the politicians do their puppet-dance.

I agree that piracy sucks, but they're dropping a nuclear bomb to take out a purse-snatcher.

>:( >:(

Good luck to you Piotr!

Edit:  and NOW Hasbro has their panties in a twist.  Sometimes I love WotC, other days... >:(  I'll support however I can!  I'm pretty sure that they can't go after you for the graphical content, because tons of other sites (mtgsalvation, tcgplayer, et al.) would be in the same boat.
They're just jealous.  ;)  Hasbro is probably trying to clear the app market before they release their app at the end of the month.

I'm wondering how MaRo would feel about all of this...

No! How can I lose my most favorite app forum? î'

By the way, if you go to Wikipedia and press esc multiple times, then you can use it. 
