Prerelease: First Impressions

Attended a 70 person prerelease at midnight, had a great time! I played Selesnya splashing blue and finished 4th. Overall it seemed everyone in the top 8-16 played 3+ colors. Another thing of note was that every person in top 8 played or splashed blue. Just so much unmatched utility, and I believe this is a sign that blue will be a very popular color to splash/play in RtR drafts. Overall I absolutely love the format. No one's deck seemed "OP" or no fun. How did your prerelease go? Any thoughts on how RtR will effect standard now that you've played  with the set?

I ended up 2-2. Had to go to work. Was there from 12am to 6am lol. There were easily 70 people. My highlight of the night was gett an angels vs Demons {Akroma, angel of wrath} for a {dreadbore} and $10. A lot of people thought {dreadbore} was an instant. After hype tax dreadbore will end up around $3-4

I knew that people were going to splash another color, I mean the gates are there and are common. I'm going Rakdos today splashing whatever color gate I get most of sharing B or R. Preferably spalsh green because Rakdos creatures are bipolar in battle, and izzet does not really have strong creatures.

So you got in the event that PVDDR could not get into. But I guess that's what happens if you wait to long.


Edit: I had a great time at my prerelease. Pulled niv-Mizzet and a foil {aburpt decay} had went Azorius and splashed {r} for good old niv-Mizzit. Who is a house by the way.

Format seemed very balanced, R/B seemed the be the better choice if your creature pull was good.  Just unleashed everyone and swing.  One problem I had, really not to many boardsweepers in my packs.

I didn't go to the prerelease... Am I the only person in the world that didn't?  I just like monocolor decks, idk why.

I picked azorius. After opening my packs, I switched to g/w lol. Nothing worth making a U/W deck out of. Made a solid populate deck. Went 3-1. Populated a 4/4 ooze token like 3 times. Highlight of the day lol. Pulled a steam vents, jarad, a few cheap rares. Traded the steam and jarad for some selenya cards. I feel green white will be strong..
