So the precursor to this is the story of the Eldrazi.

Eons ago, these were beings that roamed the multiverse consuming all the Mana they could from each plane they came across until it was dry or destroyed. They arrived on the plane of Zendikar, a plane of powerful and unbridaled Mana, and a Planeswalker skilled enough to harness the torrential Mana and use it to cage them away for the Multiverse's protection. The rest is history (in the form of one of my fav sets/expansions so far).

So, obviously the Eldrazi were some pretty evil dudes. Before I get to the crux of this long winded epic, you need to look at {Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre}, {Broodwarden} and {Pathrazar of Ulamog}, specifically the arms, to see my point.

Ok, so keeping in mind that they have done many evil things across the Multiverse, do you think {Pale Wayfarer} could be a hint towards the Eldrazi?! Take into consideration the artwork and the flavour text. I know the Elradzi elders are suppose to be immortal (hence the 'shuffle back into your library' thing), but Pathrazar and {Hand of Emrakul} aren't immortal...?

I loved {Pale Wayfarer} when It first came out, then when Rise of the Eldrazi was released, I flipped out but no one could see it! Can anyone else see the connection, even if WotC didn't intend it?

The stories built into mtg are a big draw for me. The Lorwyn cycle, in large part because it borrowed from some great Welsh and other European traditions, was why I started the game. I thought this Shadowmoor apparition might be a reflection of its Lorwyn giant counterpart but the similarity to the Eldrazi is undeniable. In fact it looks far more like an Eldrazi than a giant and I say one of those multi-armed horrors was caught up in the Great Aurora of Shadowmoor.
