 Now I know it takes all kinds, and it obviously doesn't go for everyone. But geeze it just seems like everyone here is just so much more cordial than in person.
I haven't been getting many hits for trades up here lately so I've been Trolling in shops lately... But I really can't find anyone nice to sit down with, everyone's always trying to rip you or, "I don't value it at that" kinda crap.. I kinda went with it yesterday because I don't want to buy anything but I kinda regret it now. I traded my {bonfire of the damned} for a {cavern of souls} a {tibalt the fiend blooded} and {birds of paradise}

But really i lost out there..

The only happy thing was I randomly saw three packs at the bottom of an open box so I was like what the hey, got them, and hit {liliana of the dark realms}

That sucks man about trading. Thee was one guy the alway put his on the high end and didn't do the same for any one else's. I've pretty much gotten to the point that I'll flat out say no unless they need help or are respectful and nice. I'm fine taking a small lose on a trade.

Nice pull too by the way.

Ya my local store is spammed with little kids and rude ones at that. I play casual and wanted a casual game. They'd agree but then I warned them that my decks are semi legacy in that the cards are from all sets. He looks at me and says " well wheres the fun in that? Standard is better" and walks away.

Greg54js

Standard sucks!! I'd play casual anyday over standard.

I know right? And another kid complained when I beat him how unfair it was that my decks have a bigger variety. I was like "I warned you in advance. It's a casual game. I'm not that competitive. We can try it again?" and the kid starts huffin and puffin. I wish I could go blow his house down! I HATE STANDARD AND SNOBBY KIDS!
Honestly, the kids that are there probably don't even pay for their own stuff. Mommy and daddy front the money or use their allowance. I never had an allowance.

Rage rant over.

I play edh and standard and I'm starting legacy. So whatever you want I play!

DirtyMustachio

Yeah thanks guys, that's kinda the response I expected on here.

Yeah I don't know why standard players are like that, I try to have a variety of decks so I can play with a variety of people even being a primarily standard player.

I guess I'm just kinda aggravated because while I knew I needed a cavern I was kinda hoping to use that bonfire to pull at least 2 of the new Lilys.

Oh well, cèst la vie

Yeah I was pretty jacked about my pull thanks!

Coffee Vampire

I would call myself a standard player right now, but I don't mind facing casual decks...it just gives me more of a reason to be happy when I beat them.

izik99

My friend keeps on bugging me to make a standard deck, so i just made one to keep him queit.

Wackaman9001

I hate when people refuse to trade off value and the only person I ever trade off value to is my brother, and then it's still in the family so I don't mind

ChrisRodriguez

I'm a standard player myself. I mostly trade for need. And I trade for even value, but mostly I lose out on a few dollars on trades. (i.e. I traded a SoWaP for a snapcaster and 1 sulfur falls a while back when SoWaP was around 35-40 and the snapcaster and sulfur falls was about 30 together at the time). As far as games I will play against a casual player any day. It's fun. I have played my standard UW delver against a legacy Stoneblade deck. I lost bad, but I kept playing. I don't understand players any more. They seem to be to uptight and stingy. They need to learn how to have fun.

Brandalog

I play standard 99% of the time. I did play edh. But got bored cause
I only got to play with
Y friends and the same decks over and over. I'll play against casual decks no problem, but I prefer standard just because I don't know many other cards since the zendikar and shards blocks.

DirtyMustachio

Yeah I want to think most players are willing to play together no matter what format, it just seems like there's an elitist group like within Yugioh as well...

I knew I was taking the hit.. I just don't know why I didn't stop an just let it pass... Oh well

For some reason I don't handle expensive cards well. I'm luck I have the standard playsets of planes walkers I have still hopefully I don't screw up or sell it all, money is my biggest weakness lol

Kaleo42

Wow that was quite a read after just waking up. You've all made me feel very lucky.

When i started it was at a small game shop where the te top people that weren't jerks played to avoid the jerks. They helped me out a lot when i started and i never understood why until i was in their shoes. Top players don't open packs outside of releases, so they encourage new players to stick around and enjoy the game so that they'll open up packs and bring more value to the local trading. This of course is only the way the nice top players think, the jerks stomp kids (calling them a bye) and move on.

I'm more thankful now, than ever before that i had good mentorship. Thank you all.
